Frequently asked questions
What is your return policy?
We do not offer any returns or refunds unless your ceramics arrive broken or damaged.
Claireamics pieces are entirely handcrafted and may vary in size, shape, and color. These are natural characteristics of a handmade item and are not considered flaws (unless noted otherwise).
What are "seconds" pieces?
"Seconds" are ceramics that contain a minor surface level flaw, such as glazing issues or hairline cracks. These imperfections are purely cosmetic and you can rest assured that your pieces are still completely functional and food safe.
How do I care for my ceramics?
Claireamics are food, dishwasher, and microwave safe. For the best chance of longevity, I recommend handwashing to clean your pieces!
What is the crackling in the glaze?
The small cracks you may notice in the glaze of your handmade ceramics is called crazing. The crazing does not go beyond surface level and you can rest assured that your piece is highly vitrified. The cracks may stain over time with dark liquids, but I find that putting it through the dishwasher helps.
How are Claireamics made?
Each Claireamics piece is handmade from my little home studio in Boston. They are thrown and sculpted using a cone 6 porcelain, painted, and finished with food-safe glaze. They're then fired to be fully vitrified. Each and every pot is completely designed and handmade with love to bring joy to you with every use!
Who is Claire?
Hello! I'm the girl behind Claireamics!
I grew up in California but moved to Boston in 2020 for my graduate degree at MIT.
I took my first ceramics class at MIT as a way for me to re-explore my childhood love for art in my otherwise very science heavy life.
I started Claireamics to share my passion of cute and functional homeware that sparks joy with every use. I am inspired by soft, simple forms, my favorite foods, and goofy animals—my favorite being bears, of course.
I am immensely grateful to now be doing this full time. Thanks for being here ♡
